Traveling Companions and the RESTRICTIONS
We travel with 3 Pomeranians, and they are pretty well behaved. All dogs bark, all dogs poop, and even some will bite, when provoked. Ours do all but the biting thing... We carry a pen like enclosure....

But it doesn't make a difference when you've ALREADY got the dogs. Suggesting that they "take fewer dogs" is not practical advice for their situation now because it's not a viable option. As the OP said, you wouldn't tell someone to take fewer kids when they ask about how to deal with a 6 person maximum campsite and they have 5 kids.
