Has anyone dealt with Ehrlichiosis ? Zari was treated for 20 days with doxycycline..she did require one IV for dehyration and received a vitamin infusion...she seemed to be responding, her appetite ...

Yes, a doberman we adopted from a high-kill shelter as a puppy. She got this disease from a tick and was very ill before it became apparent. We rushed her to the ER that night and they put her on fluids and strong antibiotics. She was very anemic but recovered quickly with an iron supplement. To stimulate her appetite we mixed barely cooked liver and kidneys in her canned/kibble food. This was some years ago. She lived to be 14 or 15 and had to be PTS due to tumors developing all over her body. She waits for us at Rainbow Bridge.
