I see the newer panels have 12 busbars for higher efficiency, eg

ouch they are expensive, but I guess if they are on the island they are conventiant for you. I got mine from Black sheep solar out of saskatuan but I did a pick up at a distrubituer in vancouver to save the shipping.
Steve - pianotunaNomad IIItime2roll,
Thanks. I'll have to investigate more carefully. Or bite the bullet and use Victron. - 3_tonsExplorer IIIFrom my neighbors experience:
a) EPEver terminals strip-out easy - Caution, DO NOT over tighten…Had to repurchase because manufacturer denied warranty claim.
b) Customer support ranks poor if not non-existent.
c) from my own perspective, initial programming seemed to be an exercise in utter frustration.
Just saying as a neighbor-observer…

Hi Housted,
Just checking--is your battery bank 12 volt?
Yes 400 AH BattleBorn.... pianotuna wrote:
I know what the manual says. And I know I tried to help a person that said the "user" section was not available in the settings.
time2roll,
There is a user set for voltage and the like. It is also available with a temperature sensor for the battery bank--or you can allow it to use the internal sensor.- pianotunaNomad III

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1536975/Epever-Tracer-An-Series.html?page=25#manual - Can you set the voltage and absorption time?
IIRC some of these have presets but the manual setting are not active until epever updates the software some time in the future. If the presets are fine then good to go. - pianotunaNomad III

Hi BFL13,
I'm looking at these poly cells as they are shade tolerant.
https://microgreen.ca/downloads/solar-panel-360w-REC-datasheet.pdf Cost is $300 for a 360 watt panel.
They are smaller, lighter, and produce more watts than the Q-cells.
If I buy four I am hoping I won't need a rack on the roof. I'll go flat fixed again.
I'll also go series parallel again to boost the possible charging times, while reducing wire size. - HoustedExplorer IIII have been using an 80 amp unit for several years and it works just fine.
