1999 National RV Seabreeze Fridge/Generator Issues

Question

Hello, I have a 1999 National RV Seabreeze (Model 1310) with a Dometic RM 2652/RM 2852 (Newer models are known as DM 2652 and DM 2852) and a Generac Primepact 50g 4.8KW generator. Any advise is greatly appreciated as I'm in a struggle with my RV that I imagine you guys have been through before.

The Refrigerator's freezer works beautifully, but the refrigerator refuses to show even an attempt at dropping the temperature. It's almost warmer in my fridge than it is in my RV. Like I said though, the freezer seems to work flawlessly, gets cold in no-time and stays cold. I have never done any maintenance or repairs on the refrigerator as I recently purchased the RV. I don't believe it's an issue related to the heater element which seems to be common, because the coils behind my refrigerator get real warm. I'm running the refrigerator on electric mode.

The generator powers up, but doesn't produce any power. It seems to run fine, but inside my RV there is no electricity to any of the outlets. The outlets work fine when hooked up to electric.

Are the breakers tripped on the generator? there are two in the front. I don't think you have a transfer switch (my National RV dosen't). Is your power cord plugged into the socket in the power cord bay? That's where the Elec. from the generator goes. And the power cord needs to be plugged into for the RV to get power from the generator.
As to the refrigerator do you see any yellow color on the back of the refrigerator when you take the outside door off. Your cooling unit may have gone south and needs to be replaced.
I think you have 2 different problems going here.

I agree.Check to make sure its plugged in if you dont have a transfer switch.Your fridge is most likely toast.  My same model did the same thing.  They plug up inside and there is no real permanent fix.  Some will say flip it over to burp it, but thats a lot of work and half way to replacing the cooling unit.

Update:I tried to diagnose the generator with some manuals and diagrams that I had found online, and after putting an honest effort into it I was able to get nowhere. In response your advise; both breakers weren't tripped and I made sure the power cord was plugged into the socket in the power cord bay. I don't have a transfer switch on my generator. I ended up bringing the RV to someone to have the generator looked at. As far as the refrigerator goes, fantastic news. After letting the refrigerator run on electric overnight, it seems to be working flawlessly. Both the refrigerator and freezer are at the proper temperatures; I guess it just takes a long time to reach proper temps.Thank you both for the advise though; I lucked out with the refrigerator, but the generator is going to be much more efficient for me if I just pay to have it fixed. At the state my generator is in, it's out of my expertise - and I'd hate to damage the generator more than it already is.

How long did you have the fridge on the first time you checked when it was warm?It can take 3-5 hours, sometimes more.

Did you check to see if their is any power at that generator outlet?
