30amp to 50amp pigtail

I have that exact adapter in my RV (Camco, if I recall) but paid a lot more than $5. Grab it and go!

Appreciate the feedback. For 5nucks , I think I will buy it. I am anticipating I will end up with a DP, 3-5 years old in the $175-225 range so 50 amp svc

I have used both the 50A receptacle to 30A trailer (when I had a 30A trailer) and the opposite - 30A receptacle to 50A trailer. Usually I've needed these when either the needed receptacle wasn't working, but in some cases, it wasn't available. As I can run all but the 2nd AC unit on the 50A and draw only 24A or so, the 30A works pretty well for me when needed.

I have a 30A generator, so the adapter is useful there as well.

I also have a 15A -> 30A adapter; I can charge the mobile house batteries while the rig is parked at the fixed house. :)

You never know when you'll be in a "situation", so flexibility is a good thing.

If you are buying a 50 amp RV, then yes. If you are buying a 30 amp RV you should get one with 50 amp male and 30 amp female instead. (And a 15 amp male to whichever rig you buy.)

I have them all, but never have used them. I'm either on 50 amp or gen-set.
our kids are a 30 amp trailer, they often only see a 50 amp service, so they use a 30 to 50 connector

Yes. In some situations you will need it.....IF and only IF you get an RV that is equipped for 50 amp service.

Then....you need to understand that "50 amp service" really is TWO 50 amp feeds for a total of 100 AMPS. So if you plug a "50 amp" RV into a 30 amp feed, you likely will NOT be able to use all of your 110 V stuff at the same time. Like only one A/C for instance.

Can’t go wrong for $5. Whether you ever need it or not.

I have stayed in a number of locations that did not provide 50A service and had to use a 30A to 50A adapter. I am assuming the original poster intends to purchase a 50A RV.....

Are you buying a rig with 50A service?
