45 psi fresh water pump in a 20-30 psi system

I need to replace the fresh water pump on my motorhome (old one got stolen while during renovations). The rig manual says the system is 20-30 psi but I found a new pump on kijiji that is rated at 45 psi. Any issues along the road if I buy that one?

Thank you
  • Leaks? It's about twice the pressure. But it might be okay, probably will depend on the state of your plumbing, or rather the state of your RV's plumbing.
  • Most pumps have a pressure adjustment. You should be able to turn it down, even though you probably don't need to. Most city water connections are higher than 20-30 PSI.
  • It will be fine with the 45 PSI pump.
Even when you connect to city water your going to be at least 40~45 psi in most cases.
  • 1984 vintage ........

Bet you have 'GRAY' plumbing lines/fittings

    It is 'Quest' piping......Polybutylene pipe
The pipe is OK but the aluminum bands/clamps fail.

If you have Copper crimps or threaded fittings it is OK
