Air conditioner works on shore but not genny

What kind of damage can 80HZ do to other equipment in the 5th wheel?

It will take out a motor dang quick!

Today I used a Kill A Watt meter to check and it showed 80HZ. I checked on my rig and it was right on 60HZ where it should be. I don't know where to adjust that. And the tech (?) that said it was OK evidently didn't check that. What kind of damage can 80HZ do to other equipment in the 5th wheel?

This Onan has only one 30amp breaker.

Gen is running on both cyl.

I'll check out the other thread.

Tomorrow I'm going to raise the idle and try to start the AC.

If this RV has a 30 amp service
There is a good chance that the RV is wired where the A/C runs from only one side of the onan on a single circuit breaker
The onan has two circuit breakers
Open the compartment door reach on the right side of the onan flip both breakers off, then back on
One breaker might not be set, the house has power the A/C does not

Is the generator running on both cylinders.

The genny keeps running when AC tries to start.

I had the same problem with an Onan 2800 Micro Lite. The carburetor was the issue. I tried cleaning it. Purchased a new carb for %170.00 working fine now.
It was a DIY project. It would run minor items without an issue. When the A/C kicked in it would die. There was not enough fuel for the governor to bring the RPMs up.

I don't know anything really on the Onan 4000 except it should run the air if running properly.

Hopefully an Onan person will chime in and help with diagnostics.

Genny is an '99 Onan Emerald plus 4000, model# 4bgefa26100p, Serial#: c990879371

More info: owner said that mechanic had the AC running after repair. (But he does get confused a lot-his wife has to do all the driving)
