I had the same problem with an Onan 2800 Micro Lite. The carburetor was the issue. I tried cleaning it. Purchased a new carb for %170.00 working fine now.
It was a DIY project. It would run minor items without an issue. When the A/C kicked in it would die. There was not enough fuel for the governor to bring the RPMs up.
