Another Slide out Question

we have tried so many things and nothing has worked.

Pricey motor! How about rebuilding your motor? With a stalled motor releasing the power should be tolerable to the motor. Excessive power and heat are often the motors downfall.

But if the bar or something is jammed it will need to be identified and fixed.

How about removing the bar, getting help to push the slide in then blocking it closed?

plus if the rod or gears are jammed that could have caused the existing motor to burn up. Dont want to do that again

new motor is $1200.00 I cannot afford one. I just need to be able to hand crank it in...

Maybe a new motor?

have not been able to get a manual. its an older "97 jayco

I have to move it in 1 week and have to figure out some how to get the slide in to transport it :(

Sounds like "gear bar" is a rack and pinion type setup. If there is no longer anything holding the rotating bar then it could require more force to turn or the slide is somehow jammed. But don't apply to much force. Try working it back and forth to see if there is any signs of movement.

Can you get manuals etc on your setup?

ok back with this post. Pulled motor.. its bad. Still wont hand crank in.. The motor is removed so there wouldn't be a issue with the brake holding it. Went under RV and tied rotating the bar (that motor was attached to)that runs on the gear bars (not sure what to call the various parts, bear with me.) It still wont move. What is my next thing to check ?

I've posted this before but everyone should know how to manually operated the slides before they buy the rig.

I was confident I knew the procedure on the current rig. Then the hydraulic pump leaked and ruined the motor. Lipper had 3 design problems that prevented the manual procedure from working and when pointed out they sent me a upgraded replacement pump.

I'm not sure that it's possible/practical to bring in my heavy slides by disconnecting the hydraulics. And if so what would keep the slides in with no hydraulic pressure? I suppose one could build a stout frame setup inside the rig to block the slide closed.

Yes, the purpose of the brake is to keep the slide from moving when it shouldn't. The brake is on the motor which spins rapidly when used. So a small brake has a large stopping ability.
