- TXicemanExplorer IIBest thing to do is put an ad on your local Freelist site and get someone to haul it off.
Ken - tvman44ExplorerScrap value.
- Chris_BryantExplorer IIYou can get $50 all day long for a shroud in good condition- the blower motor has a like value as well. There is also a bit of copper in it for scrap.
- Matt_ColieExplorer IIFor the cost of a Craig's List ad, why not. I did something like that once (not with a dead A/C) with a price table at the bottom. The price went down 5$ a week.
It finally sold, but I don't remember for how much.
Matt - dbblsExplorerReplacing the Freon is just part of the cost. The leak will have to be found and repaired. It would be worth nothing to me, even if I needed one.
- jfkmkExplorerMy experience is what is one persons junk is another persons treasure. We've sold more stuff on craigslist that was destined for the dumpster than I can count. Just be honest about the condition of the unit and give it a shot.
- oldmattbExplorerI would probably pay up to $40 if I needed a shroud or fan motor, assuming it was decent shape.
