Atwood water heater

So my Atwood G6A-8E water heater won't light, hit the switch and no spark. If I hold a lighter by igniter it lights then shuts down. I notice the control board or spark module is leaking brown liquid and has a burnt area on the right side about 3/4 the way down. I did a google search for the module but no "exact" results came up. It is from/ in a 2011 Fleetwood Tioga Montara. Does anyone know if they make the part? I have an email into Atwood but have time to kill right now

Thanks for any input
Marty
  • No flame or flair up , had cleaned burner tube and exhaust. It was an internal part of board diode, resistor Etc
  • Dinasour makes great products. I keep one of their universal ignitor boards in my spares that will work in either of our two furnaces and our water heater. I haven't needed to use it yet for this motorhome, but a spare board sure came in handy in our previous motorhome, when the OEM furnace board quit in 35 deg.F weather.
  • Modules only "burn/melt" if you have had a flame Flashback. Caused by a burner tube restriction. You need to check and clean both the burner tube and the exhaust burner tube that goes thru the water heater. Doug
  • I got the dinasour board and installed Thursday and have hot water once again- thank you for the advice
