But being stuck in Ridgeland SC for 7 days now I need to vent a bit.Jayco manufactured the 27DSRL model with two axles rated at 3500 pounds each on a vehicle whose gross weight is 7500. Even if you are not at the gross weight you are so close that any bump in the road can bend or break the axle. That has now happened 2 times to me.Sure, wish I had known that before I bought it. Next time I’ll check axle and trailer specs before buying.I’m now sitting in Ridgeland, SC since Friday April 20, 2018 with two broken axles. At least I found a small RV repair shop that was close by and came out to help me the first day. They were able to get me to their lot and supply me with water and electric while I wait.My dealer kept promising me that they would find the parts and ship them 2 day express. I now know that they were only kidding me. I’m sure they have dealt with Lippert before and know that Lippert does not stock any axle! They are all made on demand only!On Monday April 23, 2018 Lippert was contacted and the order processed for two new axles expedited delivery. We were told it should be 3-5 days. This is day 4. Tomorrow marks the first full week of being broke down.After the first axle bent in Cape Brenton, Canada I asked me dealer if they would look at options for me to upgrade to axles that would not break every time I travel long distances. I reinforced that message again last week while sitting on the side of the road. I always get “we are working on it.” Guess not. The dealer is Pete’s RV in South Windsor, CT. Guess I will look for a new dealer when I get back.

The axles are well within specs for that trailer. 7500GVWR but you have forgotten to subtract 1000 pounds for the hitch weight. So as long as your scaled weight is under the GVWR you should only have at most around 6000 pounds on the axles. Bent qxles and now broken axles this soon after purchase, I have to think one of three things. Either your grossly overloaded, are extremely rough on your trailer, or there was a mfg flaw with your trailer.Sorry for your issues, but you need to look seriously at a lot of things before you start the blame game.

I am sorry you are in that situation. Plese, please when you get the trailer fixed go to a scale with the trailer fully loaded as you normally travel. you may well be overloading your trailer!

That is a lot of broken axles on a fairly new trailer with not so many miles on it.Axles are well with in trailer weight specs.....How are the tires wearing?WHERE are axles BREAKING????A trip to the scales is a really good suggestion.Best to know actual weight being carried by axles so you can use it as ammunition when dealing with JAYCO (forget Dealer.....they are just a go between---make direct contact with JAYCO Representative to solve issues)An upgrade to 5200# axles would be a bit overkill.Change in brake assembly, tire/wheels, probably spring size/shackles etc

The 3500 lb axles are of a very poor design with spindles that have little shoulder contact with the inner bearing. The thin wall tubing is unbelievablely weak and can be bent easily. The rated 3500 lb might be fine for a static load, but with the dynamics of highway travel, this marginal design can fail. Move to 5200 lb axles and let others enjoy the pathetic junk.

My 7880 gvwr trailer rides on 2x 3500 AL-KO axles just fine for a dozen years and ten's of thousands of miles.

I would be curious to see a picture of these broken axles....

My 2017 Jayco 28 BHBE (slightly longer and slightly heavier) has 4400 pound Lippert axles on it. I know this because I just had to deal with Lippert on an issue with the brakes. Other than that the axles have been fine with no problems at all. After reading what Lynnmor wrote maybe the 4400 pound axles would be something to suggest to Jayco or your dealer. I agree with Old-Biscuit, go straight through Jayco or better yet straight to Lippert like I did, cutting out all the middle men. I personally had very good dealing with Lippert on my brake issue. It is odd that you have had this happen twice now on a mostly new TT. I'm sure that your TT isn't the only one that Jayco/Lippert has installed these axles on. Therefore if it is a manufacturer problem then you shouldn't be alone. If you are indeed alone on this issue then it sounds like something on your end. Lots of good suggestions here.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

I doubt that I am over weight, but I will put it on a scale when I get back on the road. I travel with only a few gallons of water in the freshwater tank and empty the black and grey water before traveling. Its only me and a miniature Schnauzer in the RV so how much weight can that be.

The first time I bend the axle my dealer had 3 others with the same issue. That damage was slight and I was able to get back to the dealer for repairs.

This time it may have been the bearings that caused the probelm. My Tundra signaled me that there was a problem with the trailer wire connections. I was near a rest area so stopped to check. I noticed that one tire was very hot and called the dealer. He thought the problem was a ceased break. Had me cut the wire. Drove down the road for another 8 miles and pulled into a truck rest area. Wheel was very hot. Connected with a repair shop. When they took the wheel off the bearings were gone along with all of the breaks and the spindle was bent. I had the bearing inspected and repacked a week before this trip.

I have pictures but do not see a way to post. Must be here someplace.

"Brakes" are a totally different thing than a broken axle - maybe your lumping those together?
Dealer was an idiot for telling you to cut a brake wire to free a seized brake. It shows he has no idea what he's doing.
I suspect that now, after another shop has gone through the brakes and bearings, most of your problems will be gone.
Can I ask, how exactly the axles are bent?
