Battery Compartment Wiring
I have portable solar with Anderson connectors on the battery bank and plan to add solar to the roof with another controller. I also plan on adding a couple of things like a 12V receptacle or two and volt meter. I don't want to end up with 5 or 6 wires on each battery post so I guess bus bar(s) are the solution. To keep drilling into the compartment wall to a minimum, I guess a plywood panel would be good.
Back to the bus bar(s). I have seen a double bus bar with pos/neg, but maybe two separate bars would be a better idea with maybe 6 posts each. What size cable from the battery to the positive bar? How about the negative side? The Blue Sea bus bars have a large nut at each end, but I suspect just one cable from the bat to the bar on the positive side? How about the negative - should it connect to both the battery bank and the frame?
And fuses - between the bar and batteries or on each connection to the bar? And other than the original house wiring from the charger/converter, is there anything that should connect directly to the battery bank? An inverter comes to mind.
Thanks for any help.
