Brakes on front axel not working

I need some advise. I have a 2008 Carriage Cameo f73 RE3. The rear axel has brakes but the ones on the front axel do not work on either side. I have replaced the wiring up to where it disappears under the side covering. If anyone has any ideas I am willing to listen. The better half and I are at wits end. Thanks in advance, Mike
  • Same 12V DC + power wire from battery to ALL brakes on axles.
Ground can be same negative wire or each magnet can be grounded to frame.

Check for power at each magnet on front axles.

Also when was the last time all the brakes were adjusted?

Brake wiring......(a lot are done the way depicted on left. Wiring on right gives better brake performance)

  • I found the wires on the inside of my brake assemblies were severed because they were not routed properly and got cut by the mechanisms themselves... After splicing them back and routing them properly, all has been good for the last 11 years.

So, you gotta pull the drums off and take a look at the brakes themselves IMO..

    Good luck.

  • Thanks for the info. Finally found the problem. When I had a friend redo the wiring several months ago he used the wrong sized wire. I replaced the 16 ga that he used with 12ga. Also there was a short in the wires running through the front axel. All brakes are now working.:)
