Carrier A/C model # 68RU14102A - Blinking red light ???

I have a Carrier A/C model # 68RU14102A. Today when I cleaned the filter I noticed a red light blinking about once per second. Since the red light is "hidden" behind the filter, I do not think it is something that a user should be worried about. But I am not sure.

:h

I looked in the user manual but did not find any info on the light.

X2 If light is out (no 12 VDC) and 120VAC is present the unit will not run. JM2¢...
  • Hi,

Some boards just blink. When there is a problem, then the blinking might be one long blink followed by several short blinks. Or two long and 1-6 short. Something like that will be de-coded in the repair manual.

Some might be as easy as blocked drain line, or high pressure, or something like that. You can prevent high pressure from tripping by washing the outdoor coil with a garden hose once a year or so.
