Charging Problems

One thing to NOT worry about is revealing you know absolutely zero about a problem. We cannot see with your eyes try as we might. Describe your problem to blind people. We cannot see your rig. We cannot visualize what you are dealing with. Year and model. How did you "notice" battery power was low?

Offer clues and your problem will be diagnosed.

You didn't provide us with any feedback from your previous post on electrical problems. Did those problems get fixed or is this current problem part of the previous ones. You really need to provide us with any corrections you may have done to help with this problem.....maybe they are related...or the same! If you don't respond back, it like us talking to a brick wall.

measure voltage at battery. with shore power on should be 13 to 14.4 volts if charger is working. check terminials for cleanliness . check water level.
if not charging check for any fuses check voltage coming from charger.

normally on shore power , battery should showe full voltage.

Your converter is suppose to charge your coach battery when connected to shore power. If the fuse/circuit breaker which sits near the coach battery is blown then that would prevent the converter from charging the battery. If the fuse/circuit breaker is OK then you should be reading 13.6 volts at the battery when the rig is plugged into shore power - if not then the fuses on the converter need to be checked - if those are OK then your converter may need replacing.

If the converter is working and your batteries are still low - then have the batteries checked out at your local auto parts/tire outlet - may need new battery.

Also - your rig may have a battery disconnect switch - make sure you haven't accidentally triggered that since it will take the batteries off line preventing them from charging.

Don't know which type of unit you have, but we have a switch to pull out or push in depending on if we want to keep recharging the batteries. Ours is located on the exterior where the controls are for the hydraulic landing gear.
