Coleman Mach AC problem

I am on the road and one of my two four year old Coleman Mach ACs is not cooling. I turned it off for about 8 hours to make sure it was not frozen up as it is quite humid in south GA right now.

I started it back up just now and it is still not cooling or making the sound of the compressor starting. The sound it is making is about a 3 second hum about every 30 seconds.

any ideas?

thanks very much,
  • Yep- I would start with the start capacitor/device. That said- a lot don't have start capacitors installed from the factory, so I would also look at wiring connections back to the breaker box.

Either the Start capacitor or the compressor is locked. Usually on RVP, it is a bad Start capacitor. Doug
