Dicor Roof Restore

So our "new" TT is going into its 10th season this year and the EDPM roof is starting to look a little checked. Amazing how time flies, feels like I just got this rig!

Looking at the Dicor Roof Renew, a coating that goes over the roof after you apply a cleaner/prep.

But Dicor also makes Cool Coat, which supposedly keep the inside of the RV cooler.

Anybody have any experience with either of these?
  • I will need to do something similar myself this year. Eagerly waiting for knowledgeable replies. :)
  • The Cool Coat sounds interesting but the directions say you have to clean and apply two coats all on the same day.
Sounds like one long day of work!
  • Scott both products are like that. You are supposed to tape plastic around the sides of the RV to protect from runoff from the cleaner, then apply the cleaner, powerwash the roof then apply two coats of sealer, allowing to dry between each step. Yes, it is a FULL day of work and the forecast has to be clear with no chance of rain or overnight dew.

Here is a video from Dicor on the process.
  • I used Heng's Rubber Roof Coating. It went on easily, no primer ended.
  • Look at epdmcoatings.com, click on the RV tab. I did my 2006 unit last October. Yes, there is prep work you must do before you apply the coating. Based on manufacturer's instructions I was able to put the leftover coating in the freezer and do touchups later. I am very happy with results. PM me if you have Q's.
  • I did the 2 step coating two years ago on mine. It was a long day. Jury is still out on how much longer the roof will last because of it. Mine was 10 years old when I did it.
