Dometic cooling fan not operating

My dometic refrigerator is cooling OK on gas but only to about 39 on electric. The cooling fan behind the refrigerator is not operating. It works if I jump it. Anyone have this issue ? Sensor? Electric board? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for any help

MY Dometic cools like yours. Always have. Added 2 additional fans. Although the freezer freezes well I have not had any issues with milk, etc going bad.

On a Dometic fridge, the power for the fan comes from a terminal block next to the board, not from the board itself. Before suspecting the board, check the fuses, there will be an external automotive style fuse as well as some under the cover. Also check the terminal block for 12 volt power.

Checked this morning and there is no power to the fuse for the fan. I am guessing the board needs to be replaced.

Is there power at the snap disc? if not, there is an inline fuse (cartridge fuse) in the positive line to the thermostat. need to chek it, I think it's on the blue wire on a Dometic. If the fuse is good, it's fan time. You can get a new one from DigiKey, Dell City Electronics of Flea Bay. I just bought 2 FDB (Fluid Dynamic Bearing) 120 mm muffin fans from Flea Bay for 20 bucks, shipping included.

FDB fans are completely silent in operation. I replaced my single fan with the pair for more airflow (and better heat transfer / cooling.

CORRECTION I hot wired the fan directly and it is working. Fuse is good also

It's a snap disc thermostat and it' should be on an outboard fin of the upper evaporator in the rear fridge cavity. Chek for power there and it if has power but the fan isn't coming on, it's probably shot. Amazon has them cheap and you can get an adjustable one pretty cheap as well.

Assuming your frig is in a slideout then there should be a thermostat behind the upper grill entry. It is attached to the cooling fins. You can test for power at this point. Since temp. Is cooler the fan cooling may not be turning on. Modified vent or adding a fan that operates at lower temperatures might be necessary to get your refrigerator temp down.
