DOMETIC FAILURE!

Went out to my Dutchmen RV and looked around, and noticed this. The thermostat was not readable in the right top of the round display. Almost like a child with an etch a sketch had drawn on it. Cover in place no other damage just the display. So if you have not looked at yours since storage might want to take a look! Unit is under two years old and they gave me this response! PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! Between Dometic and Lippert not sure who is worse! They both sell junk that will not last the warranty period and will not make it right!

DOMETIC RESPONSE:
Dometic has reviewed your request for warranty authorization and would have to respectfully decline at this time. Dometic's warranty covers manufacturing defects and from the picture this does not appear to be a manufacturing defect.

Sorry to read about your horror stories. Usually one has teething problems with a rig, but not all the stuff failing after a year's time. Hope things get better.

The one good thing -- you have not had any leaks so far, so I'd keep checking the roof and seals with a fine tooth comb. A door handle or a thermostat is fairly easy to replace. Rotten wood pretty much scraps your entire rig for good.

Thanks for the picture! Me 2 seems like here is the only place anyone will listen! We purchase our units with the dreams of them lasting more than a season or to and relaxing in and around them...just seems like no pride or workmanship has been put into them anymore, or these companies/vendors wanting a great product.

Here's your picture;

You must be very unhappy. Three of your last four posts have been complaints about something. I hope things improve for you.

Sorry picture did not link, Yea basically they are not going to cover it a new one is 108.00 probably cost them 30.00...would you not as a large company want to know what went wrong, send engineering to make the future products better for us the consumer, wait a minute that would make sense! We as RV owners need to demand customer satisfaction, these are not cheap tents! love for someone to do undercover boss in either Dometic,or Lippert...oh wait they probably are not made in the USA!

Cant see the pic.
If I understand correctly, they're only going to cover "manufacturing defects".
So if a component fails, that's not a mfg defect and they won't cover it even during the warranty.
That's really lousy.
