Dometic Fridge Roof Vent?

Our TC has a broken fridge roof vent. Was damaged by previous owner who held it in place with silicone. Has finally let go and now is held on with ty-raps.

My question is, is there some type on screen under the cover and where is a good place to get the cover and screen (if there is one)?

Thanx

Thanx for the replies folks! Will get the screen at the hardware store and order the cover.
The screen at the HW store will not have the 4 screw holes to attach the vent cover and will still need tie wraps or something to hold it down. The direct replacement will have the threaded attach holes to be held down by 4 screws.

  • I replaced my cover like that with a metal one, several years ago and no more problems.
  • Here in Fl the sun just crumbles those plastic covers after a few years. I have had to replace a few in my day and have always found what I need online. Many different places to get them but CW as previously mentioned is a good source.
  • Mine was toast after a few run-ins with tree branches. I ordered it on-line and installed it myself. Not much to it. My screen was coarser than a window screen. I vacuumed the screen which has a lot of flotsam.
The problem with just tying and glueing the piece down is it disrupts the carefully calculated air flow clearance, usually by having it too low.

  • Screen is attached to the vent itself, not the cover. You can get a new cover for under 15 bucks from CW, and probably even cheaper from Amazon.
Screen is just a piece of aluminum window screen, and you can do it yourself with a piece 2 feet x 1 foot, for about a dollar.
