Dometic Refrigerator Auto Light

Dr Steve.. Kind of reminds me of a device I made years ago to test 12 volt accessory outlets (at that time some of them had negative on the tip and positive on the shell aka bass ackwards)

Green = good
Red = Reverse
Yellow = Well yellow meant the outlet was AC not DC and in a car that should not be possible.

On my Norcold, green indicates running on shore power, amber means it's running on gas.

If it turns red, it's not running.

If you're in Auto, and are hooked to an AC supply, you will be operating on AC, not gas. If you want to check if the gas operates correctly, just unhook the AC and you should hear the gas valve open and the igniter clicking prior to the flame. On my Dometic in my 21BHS, there is Auto mode and gas mode, which would run the refrigerator on gas even in the presence of AC. Mitch, That is true but if he gets the correct manual for this issue/ concern it will help him with others.

He said it was a Dometic fridge.. Doubt that the model will make any difference with the light.. :)

Mine is yellow when on AUTO. Stays on ALL THE TIME.. I like the black tape idea however!

I usually just run mine on gas anyway, so when I see a light on the panel, I think there is something wrong!

As long as it's cold when on electric and there is a yellow light, it must be working?

Brand & MODEL Number sure do help with troubleshooting/help.

Light ON usually means it is working

Its yellow until you cover with a piece of electrical tape.

Mine is yellow,I leave it on Auto all the time, it'll change to gas by itself if you loose power.(or unplug).
