I asked this on the Navion/View form with little help. The propane pilot would lite but not cool the refrigerator. So after cleaning the burner the pilot would not lite, even though it would click.

Fridge would work on both 120 and 12 volt, till I took it to the Dealer. They said the "Mother Board" needed replaced. After this the fridge will not work on anything, the eyebrow will not lite up? Five weeks later I take the MH to the Dealer, after an hour working on it they say the ordered part, which is the correct number part can not be hooked up, the manufacturer will have to custom make one? for just $734 dollars and that is with a 10% discount, the Dealer fells sorry for me.

Why would the fridge not work after the Tech tested it? Service manager said "You must have an electrical problem", really?

Can a Tech fry the circuit board when he is testing it? The Service Writer thinks it was going out, first the propane part then the electrical part?

Thanks for any ideas.

Thanks Doug you are awesome, at first I thought if I could find the part I would order and install myself. But now I think maybe not I might just burn it up.

I will be in San Antonio 28 November you are out of my way but I like your help.

The dealer must have looked up the original P/N which is obsolete. This is a link to the new P/N and a supplier that carries it. Doug

Sorry, but they are not very competent. They researched and found a board for $278 and then found out it would not work for your model? Incompetence, plain and simple. As I stated, Dometic does not have to build the boards. They are now available in the USA. AND, they are expensive as the Service center told you. They are available in the European warehouses and they are available now. 1 year ago that would not be true. Doug

First I have not been charged for anything. The first visit was to check the refer out to see what was wrong. They said it was what they called the "Mother Board" which I assume is the circuit board.

No need to show me that it was working, since they did not fix anything. They ordered the circuit board (after 3-4 days of research and that board was $278).

I take the MH in to have the new board installed, and they say has the wrong plug-ins. I ask why it will not work on electric and they have no idea?

A week later they call and say a new board must be made and with a gift of 10% it will be $734 plus labor.

We live very rural and a mobile RV Mechanic will be in the same city, 130 miles away.

I have looked at Dometic and they do not show a circuit board for this unit?

Hope this clears up any misunderstanding'

Thanks for all the input.

The RML8555 is a European/Canadian market refer. They started to install them in USA built RV's about 4 or 5 years ago. It has taken time for Dometic to get the parts for these refers in the USA warehouse's. They do NOT have to be built. Dometic has them now and YES, they are $800 control modules. Yes, you can burn out or destroy a Circuit board if you do the wrong thing when checking them out. There IS NO PILOT LIGHT. There is a standard flame. So, if you had flame, then the odds are the Gas pressure was too low. So, you picked up the Refer 5 weeks ago and you did not notice that the refer eyebrow would not come on?????????????? If the eyebrow will not light up, why would you think it would cool at all????????????? The sad thing is, they expect YOU to pay for their incompetence. When we repair a refer for lack of cooling/operational problems the unit is operational and we show it when the customer picks up. No cool on LP? We have it on LP with a glass of water. No cool on 120? On 120 with a glass of water. Doug

You paid them to fix it. Take it back and tell them to fix it.
