- fj12ryderExplorer IIIGeeze I'm lucky to keep a set of jumper cables for a couple years before they disappear. :)
- HeisenbergExplorerI bought a high quality set of copper cables in 1973. And I still use them today. Part of that is good luck. And another part is of that is good quality.
- I used my cables a few times each year when I drove my truck to work each day.
When word gets out, someone would need a jump often enough. AAA owes me a bundle :R - hersheyExplorerActually, one uses jumper cables so seldom that I think mine are 14' copper coated aluminum ones. Don't really care...back in the day, on the farm, I've used two lengths of barbed wire to jumper a battery on a tractor.
(Yeah, go ahead and ask me how hot it got, but it worked). - 2oldmanExplorer IIEnglish as a second language.
- az99ExplorerIt's Fleabay, would you really expect all the correct and non misleading info? :)
- TurnThePageExplorerPerhaps Mex was just pointing out the misleading advertizing. They're copper coated aluminum cables, not copper cables. At least the vendor honestly cleared that point.
- j_p_f_Explorermany people buy jumper cables to make connectors for their battery banks on their solar systems.
ordering a set of those jumper cables for that use would be a bummer. - BurbManExplorer IIEven in residential applications CU-coated AL corrected the issues with AL wiring. No reason not to buy, just know what you are getting and use accordingly.

X2....They're jumper cables..Big deal
I think I can see the issue with wires that are being used constantly, but what would be damage done by jumper cables that are only used once in a blue moon?
