Electrical compartment door plug

Please help me find a small part that I can't remember where I saw it. Electrical compartment door rubber plug that fits around the shore power cord and inside the keyhole to prevent creatures from crawling into the rig. I'm sure one of you sharp-eyed RVers have found this. Thanks Chino
  • Cheapest route is 1/2 inch pipe insulation. A whole joint is about $2 and you can make a lot of them.

I cut off about 1 1/2 inches and put it around the cord. Cut around the outside of the foam about half way through so it will slide into the slot in the door.

If you don't like black or grey use a swim noodle with the color of your choice.
  • I use a piece of steel wool or better yet Stainless steel wool around the cord or propane line from large (100lb bottle). This keeps the critters out!

My trailer used this door shown below and my fix back then was to use a piece of 2X2 foam around the cable to seal it off when I slide down the cable hole plastic cover.

I cut my foam strip from one of the house window air conditioner foam strips available from WALMART-Lowes. I use these same strips all around my tent beds in my OFF-ROAd POPUP trailer to seal up air holes everywhere.
