Electrical problem

Apologies if this is the wrong section for posting. I just had a tire blowout that took out one of the running lights on the trailer. Now, I don't have any running lights at all but I do have power to the brake lights and turn signals. I can't find a blown fuse on the truck or RV (pretty sure I checked all). Could it be a relay? Pulling a 31" Heartland TT with an '02 Chevy DMax Diesel. Any ideas where to trouble shoot? TIA for any help.
  • The lights are NOT wired in series (daisy chain). Do not connect them together or you will have a dead short and keep blowing the fuse.
You have a fuse in your truck that's blown. Replace the light or cover the wires with electrical tape but do not connect them together.
Now find the fuse (not a relay) in your truck that's blown.
  • If there are only two wires at the holder, cap them. Review the fuses. Many (all?) modern vehicles have trailer brake, tail, and turn wires that are fused separately from the vehicle's lights. The fuses will be on the tow vehicle and they will not be labeled things like "tail lights" since they are part of an auxiliary circuit that powers the trailer. In some cases the circuits may have been added that have fuses that are outside of the normal fuse and power distribution centers. Look above the driver's feet as one possible location.
  • Blowout took out the light holder....I'm stuck with wires....any tips on how to bypass?
  • they could all be wired together which means if one of them fails they all fail. I would replace the light and see what happens
