engine oil level

We are looking to buy a used Fleetwood 40ft diesel pusher. There is an issue with the oil pressure- it seems like its too low. At an idle its 25 lbs and when revved up its 50lbs. Its a CAT C-9. Is this normal?
  • To the OP - why do you think it's low?

    It sounds fine to me.

  • Nothing wrong there, think about it. The engine is at idle, low RPM which turns the oil pump at a low RPM thus low pressure. Higher engine RPM, higher oil pump RPM, higher pressure.
  • Don't have specific knowledge of that engine but that range is perfectly normal for a large displacement Diesel engine.
