Extended Run gas system for EU6500/EF6300

Aside from the Pinellas Power Products option, is there an "easy" setup for an extended run system for either the EU6500 or EF6300 generators? I'm only finding systems for the EU1000/EU2000.

Guess I'll have to go with the Pinellas.

Looks like Pinellas may have the best solution.

Thanks for the link BurbMan. But I called the company and they seem to still be in the "early stages" of development and they don't have the parts finalized yet. Given the video was posted in Oct 2012 guess I'm not holding out for that option.

Looks like you're right, I wasn't aware of that difference. just watched the installation video over at the Pinnelas site (well, it's hour long, I skipped through it), and it appears that the kit uses a hollow bolt with a vacuum fitting to replace the bolt holding on the valve cover. You install a small diaphragm fuel pump that runs from the vacuum then mount the remote tank fitting on the top of the case.

Seems pretty reasonable for $249, not sure anyone else has a kit that thorough with all the right parts.

This guy has a You Tube video of a cap-type system on the 6500 but no mention of where you can buy one.

I'm thinking it's not that easy. I found a reference stating the EU6500 (and I assume EF6300) is gravity fed, while the smaller units have a fuel pump actuated off of the vacuum of the engine. So I'm thinking a similar setup wouldn't work?

Pinellas power makes some nice stuff, I looked at their remote start for an EU2000, very creative. Unfortunately they are not inexpensive.

The 2000 kits kits work because the fuel tank vents through the cap. The vent is replaced by the feed from the aux tank, so that as the internal tank drains it draws more fuel through the vent connection to the external tank instead of drawing air, thereby keeping the internal tank full.

I see the 6000 doesn't have the same vented cap, but you could make a similar connection to an external tank by drilling a hole in the cap and attaching a fuel feed in a similar fashion as the smaller gen sets. The only difference would be that you would need to find out where the stock tank is vented and close off that vent so that the tank would vent through the external tank connection and draw in additional fuel instead of air. Sounds like a good off-season project!
