Yes, marine wire, like Ancor brand is copper with each strand tinned.

The second problem is going to be removing enough insulation to get back to CLEAN copper ! Worst case, is go back 6" or more, and splice on some new wire (preferably marine wire which will not corrode).

Ring terminals and butt splice come in two styles, insulated and non-insulated. They use slightly different crimpers. The non-insualted should have (marine) heat shrink tubing applied. With heat shrink installed, the chances of corrosion are very small.

OP: I would suggest putting your location. Members maybe able to give you a good location where you are to find the parts.

I squirt some de-oxidation compound in the crimp variety. Use the correct crimper!
