Farting Norcold fridge

My 3-years old Norcold N611L is making new sounds this year. When it starts cycling while working in LP mode, sometimes - not always - there is a soft popping sound at the beginning. Like a quick soft fart into empty one-gallon tin can, for lack of better description. Sound of a gas popping up, with a metallic tone. Otherwise, performance is good. What can it be, is it something serious?

Thanks, West. Mine farts only when starts the cycle, and only once. Different symptoms - from that other thread - but the cause can be the same. Metal expanding, or something in burner/chimney tract needs cleaning.
Maybe a combination of both expansion and dirt/soot. As the initial burner flame heats the metal parts, any small opening that is partly clogged may open enough to allow ignition of gas.
As long as the furnace is operating properly, the noise isn't something that should be too worrisome. The next time your maintenance schedule has the furnace on the list, look for any clogged holes or seam corners that could be the cause.
  • Waddaya want? It's a GAS refrigerator ain't it?

    Suggest turning up the stereo.

Check the flame. If it's all-blue and lifted off the burner too much air
  • Give it 2 GASX and call me in the morning....sorry couldn't resist
  • All these different fridges farting reminds of 'assorted cold cuts'.
  • Dang I always blame the dog. Blaming the fridge is very creative.

I suggest putting the fridge on a gluten free diet. Amazing fart reduction.
