Fridge Boiler temperatures

Hi,

I have a Dometic absorption fridge to which I have added the ARP device version 2.

This allows me to check the boiler temperature--but I have no idea what is a good number.

It also allows me to check the temperature of the top tube of the absorber.

Any one have some good numbers to share?
Regards, Don

How is version 2 different?
I have the original data logger version

My boiler tube (N611) runs about 330* F. When turned on the tube gets just below 380 after 18 minutes then drops back to normal temperature after about 25 minutes of operation. I set the alarm condition to 380*

Take a look at the ARP web site a few of my rigs installation pics are included. You can tell the rig by the Canadian lake poster.

The data logger version enables nice Excel graphs. I made several of turn on/warn up and turn off/cool down both gas and electric operating on and off level. They sure helped me understand the internal function of the frig.

PS - The freezer runs 5* and the frig section runs 35*

I agree it's a good safety device and if I'd had it five years ago when I forgot to turn mine off when parked on my steep driveway the night before leaving... I'd be $$$ ahead.

Thanks Ivylog. I'm seeing 182 C on the boiler. I feel much better having the ARP working for me.

Mine read around 165ยฐ. This is consistent to the readings he was getting with his demonstration refrigerator at FMCA. There will be some variation in how close you can clip it to the tube on the boiler.

I also wonder about the temperature differential between the boiler and the asborber.

Don,

I would contact Paul Unmack, maker of the ARP. He will be able to give you good guidance on this.
