Fuel station

I know this is an old issue, but I can not find an answer to my question. I have a Weekend Warrior and the fuel station pump is blowing fuses. It is a 2006. I have the FP12 pump. My question is. With the pump still hooked to the fuel tank, and 20 gallons of fuel in tank, will the pump leak fuel when I remove the end cap to check the gears? Dont want any surprises>
