FW tank leak - need new valve

While working under RV I noted a tiny water leak which I eventually traced down to the T outlet valve of the FW tank. One end of the T goes to the water pump the other to the drain plug. Looks like I need to find a replacement valve but I haven't had any luck with Google.

The leak isn't where the valve connects to the tank - it's the valve itself at the T joint.

Here's some pictures

Any help appreciated.

  • Might want to try sites like Camco & Valterra. I searched "rv fresh water tank tee" & looked at images - there are a lot of parts there. Just stay way from Camping World & RV World - they're ripoffs.
  • So is it a two way plug valve or something else? You need to know what size the tubing/piping is, what type and size connector/threads and what material. I can assure you there are places with the valve you need. Even Amazon has two pages of them. Specialized sites like Mcmaster might have hundreds. For example
  • Thanks for the replies. I already checked Amazon and didn't see it on Mcmaster either. As far as size - an Atwood water heater plug fits it exactly.

    Any other ideas appreciated.

  • I'm not sure what size that is, but a guess is 1/2-in MPT so the valve might be 1/2-in FPT (Female Pipe Thread) but possible 3/4-in. You may not find a valve that looks just like the one you have but if it functionally works the same ( same size fittings and close to the dimensions) then it would work. We really don't have enough infor to help you, a photo of the valve would help a lot
  • Here's a better picture of the T valve - thanks for any help

  • You can get the white plastic barbed x male pipe thread branch tees at home Depot or Lowe's. They are with the plastic and brass fittings near the copper tubing in the hanging bags. You can also find the barbed tee in a harder grey plastic in the section with irrigation valves, fittings and tubing.

There may also be some small brass barbed talves there to use for the tank drain valve.

The grey push pull valves were typically used as hot and cold low point drain valves. It is a valve with a tee shaped body and not a valve and tee.

Your grey valve is an old style that is no longer made.

Attwood water heater plugs are 1/2 INCH IPT (Iron Pipe Thread) so you can go to any hardware store for parts,.
  • Thanks for the replies - couldn't find the right size T at the Big Boxes but they had a 90 that would. Fortunately my tank had an unused plug so I will utilized one 90 to connect to water pump and install a second 90 which I will use as a drain valve. Thanks again.
