Getting started with our Roadtrek

We bought our 1998 Roadtrek 190 2 years ago but haven't had the opportunity to take it out more than twice, but ready to go this year! But, we have forgotten virtually everything about running it - electricity, toilet/shower, etc. What's the best way to get up to speed before we hit the road? Husband is pretty handy with electricity but not really about vehicles in general. Thanks!

  • Why not try YouTube? There are many good videos there on the Roadtrek and how to operate the systems.

Go to an RV dealer that has one for any model year and pretend you are thinking of buying it, but first you want to be shown how it all works.

If you are squeamish about doing that, perhaps the dealer where you bought it is nearby. So go back and ask for a go-over of your famil tour. (If you have the equipment, this time video it all)
  • Join ClassBForum.com - there's a wealth of Roadtrek specific info available over there for the asking. I owned a 2002 for 8 years and had all sorts of questions answered by the Roadtrek owners on that forum. It also has searchable archived content as well.
There are also a few Roadtrek related Facebook pages, but I don't do Facebook, so can't comment on the efficacy of them. There's also a Yahoo Group or two that might help if you've got general questions about Roadtreks or just class B van type stuff.
  • Roadtrek.com has a link to download owners manuals. The one for 1998 says it covers all models for that year. Even if you take the good advice given above and have a dealer explain it all to you, you'll want the print version for later.

There are active Roadtrek owners groups on Facebook. Most of the folks on that type of group are quick to give answers to specific questions. Asking how the entire system works is pretty much too broad for them. Perhaps you can find someone who has the same model as yours and lives near you, maybe buy them lunch in exchange for in-person lessons?
