Alright.....don't flame but here is where we are:
- Solar looks great with the hours of reading last night (saving this for next project (though I could hear debate on roof vs portable mount. (MPPT controller sounds like almost a must)
- Because I want to learn the hard way I went ahead on the ProMariner ProIsoCharge180 ($129 shipped).....I'm going to monitor voltage on my current house batts before installing to see what kind of difference I yield.
- Why?? I don't want a voltage drop, even with a good solenoid ($60-$80) solenoid does not isolate the house batts for charge, they must share with starting battery. I don't want to mess with switches, I do that on my boat already....odd days I run on 1, even days on 2....just fyi I'm installing a "combiner100" (google it) on the boat to alleviate having to switch batts to give each a charge...suppose I could install the isolator off the RV....hmmm by a marine isolator for my RV and install the RV isolator on the boat....ha!
I'll update in a few weeks (could be a month) on how the install went and voltage before/after. You can flame me when I only upped my voltage by .01 to my house batts via my alternator...if I go from the low 13s to low 14s I want a some praises!
Meanwhile I'll be installing my Airbags...anybody need some used helper leaf springs for the $50 plus shipping?! (for all I know they might be Hellwigs)
