This critter is supposed to be "indistinguishable" from a an incandescent lamp of 100 watts capacity. For 20 watts power consumption.

Hopefully this means the technology is now here to make 12-volt lamps (bulbs) with the same technique.

The issue (is) light dispersion. Even around the sphere of the lamp just like an incandescent

Can only keep one's fingers crossed...

The link shows a 30/60/75 watt three-way equivalent, not 100. Did I miss something?

At $65 per, I won't live long enough to make it pay. However, competition may allow the price to come down hopefully.

The link quotes a max of 75watts, not 100.
I'm not holding my breath for a 12V version - I doubt the projected volume would justify the costs. You may be talking several thousand bulbs within the RV community but I'll bet the manufacturer is looking at millions in the wider 110V market.

Sold the fiver and looking for a DP, but not in any hurry right now.

Those CREE LED lamps that Home Depot and others sell are hard if not impossible to tell the difference between the two. I think they sell 40 & 80w versions now, and they run essentially cold. I didn't buy one for the longest time figuring they were lousy because they were 1/3 the price of anything else.
