Actually all the stuff they transport goes down the same pipe.....or at least it can....and is seperated by something that doesn't mix easily with the main product......like water maybe.
That results in some loss when they divert the separation "slurry" to a different holding tank for disposal or recovery.
That's how it was originally done. Maybe the process is different and better now.
