Stove top gas burners are similar to rv gas water heater burners.
gas control/valve has main orifice which feeds burner tube which feed burner.
Stove top burner has large spud ring with multiple holes and a large diffuser.
Food particles, sauces, liquids can all get on/in and cause obstructions.
A good cleaning of parts should be first step in problem solving when gas flow is an issue.
Once you know the deliver system is clean/clear then further digging/probing/testing is called for.
