Induction cooktop

It would depend on how beefy the inverter (and battery bank supplying it) are, I suspect. It may be necessary to have a 240V inverter in some cases. Most or all of the RV-specific designs are 120V I think, so it would just be a question of having sufficient power available to run it, similar to a microwave.

Would need a bunch of batteries if you weren’t plugged in.

Assuming there is a whole house inverter, then yes there would be power

The question becomes , how much battery is available aka how much cook time at what power level

Ask for a demo, have them show you

This really isn't an issue, unless you like to cook long elaborate meals late at night when not allowed to run the generator

For. normal meal times, does it really matter if you need to run the generator for 10 to 30 minutes

ON MY RV I use a portable INduction cooktop and it works fine on the TRUE SINE inverter. or generator or shore power

IF you are talking about an INSTALLED.. INduction cooktop (Instead of a gas range like I have) You will need to Read the fine manual or just try it and see.

I also don't know how they handle MSW. (and have no wish to find out).

I know if I buy another TT, I will ask for a propane DELETE ! 1000w-2000W PSW inverter, probably four 6V golf cart batteries and a 2000W generator (or maybe 2) and you should be all set.

Boondocking would require some good solar and generator use for hot water and to be sure the batteries were up for the evening. Good insulation and heated mattress pad will get you through most cool nights. If you boondock below freezing, you will still need a propane furnace. Non-vented propane heaters release too much moisture to be run overnight.

That just depends on how it is wired. In my motorhome the microwave oven works on the inverter if that is the only available power source. The power for the inverter can come from the batteries (which doesn't work very well) or the main engine alternator. The water heater and air conditioners are not wired to the inverter.
