If it in fact works with the eu2000i and isn't a piece of junk, the $50 price tag ($40 with 20% off coupon) would make it seem silly to build your own from scratch.
That's the question.. is it a piece of junk? A lot of HF stuff is, and you won't know, presumably, until you 'own' it.
I can still build from scratch for less than 1/2 that, and not have worry about the quality. I don't really see many on here making their own, but I do see them spending hundreds on the Honda.
