Really depends on what you mean by "100% made."
I can confirm all Honda EU-series generators are fully assembled in Japan, and most parts / suppliers are Japan-based. Sure, some raw materials (steel, aluminum, plastic pellets, etc.) might have been forged/formed outside of Japan, but all the tooling, presses, and factories that truly build the parts and final assembly of the EU2000i have always been in Japan.

Caveat: I work for Honda, but the preceding is my opinion alone. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerHonda's 100% made in Japan? Chevrolet's or Ford's 100% made in U.S.A.?
Honda gensets have not been 100% made and assembled in Japan since 1987.
First, sub assembly work was farmed out to Korea, then the Koreans sublet-ted parts of that to Taiwan and PRC. All under strict supervision of course. You can bet your sweet burro that no pieces involving proprietary trade secrets are made in Korea, PRC or Taiwan. - Wayne_DohnalExplorerUnverified opinion: If the Ryobi's output voltage and frequency are within the Honda specs the eu2000i should sync up with it. There shouldn't be any risk of damage (remember: opinion). The major problem I see that applies trying to sync a Honda inverter generator with any other is that Honda seems to stand alone with an output voltage at or near 128. This would mean that the two generators wouldn't share the load very gracefully, with the Honda carrying all of the load until it's close to being maxed out and its voltage gets pulled down. The subject Ryobi is the only currently available non-Honda/Yamaha generator I know of that parallels without the used of a sync line in its parallel cable. When Kipor did this years ago, Honda jumped all over them and the product got withdrawn from the market. Makes me wonder if Ryobi is licensing the technology from Honda and/or Yamaha, or if they're about to feel the wrath of Honda's lawyers?

they work together, because they're from the same Chinese factory and have the same electronics.
take a look at these and you'll see they're the same generator, just different colors and stickers.
Where does it say on any Honda Generator literature that the EU2000's are made in China?
To the OP, don't do it. Your idea is not a good idea. If someone here tells you to "go for it," I'd say to them, "you first." Then I'd add, "show me the video of it working too."
Until then, don't be cheap. Save your money for a few more months and just purchase a second Honda so you can parallel them properly.
bikendan was referring to the list of compatible brands in the Ryobi literature meaning those brands come from the same factory in China. He did not say the Honda was made in China.
Correct! thanx - Ron3rdExplorer III

Has anyone tried this yet?
I haven't tried it (yet), but I can't think of any reason it wouldn't work just fine.... The two generators have no way to know what brand the one they're being paralleled with is, they are simply matching frequency and voltage.
