I just put on Kodiak 8k discs and they came with oil covers. Each hub only holds about 3 oz. of oil. I already had one leak and I haven't gone anywhere yet. I had to take the leaky cover off and file down the molding ridges and it's holding oil now. All 4 seals are holding perfectly. I ran nothing but oil on my road trucks/trailers but they held a LOT more oil. I'm leaving the hub caps off so I can keep close track of those suckers. How has everyone's luck been with oil on these baby axles? Craig
Most axles around 8,000# and up use oil bearings. The only problems that I have had is that in AZ the plastic doesn't last as long as I would like and on equipment trailers, people have a habit of stepping on the oil caps to get onto the trailer. They sure don't last long that way. I wish that they were aluminum and I could simply check the level by pulling the rubber cover off.
