I bought a reconditioned Champion because of the price, not because it was anything else. I needed a generator for an airless sprayer to paint the cabin which is 6 miles off the pavement. My Onan serves me well in most circumstances and will run the MV and the AC at the same time. Yes, I did try it.
So, I did have a problem with the Onan awhile back and just had it fixed, in talking to the repair guy, his opinion is Honda's first in quality and lower repair costs, Champion's, a distant second. Wouldn't talk about any of the others. For RV stationary units, Onan was his top.
Just the opinion of a full time generator specialist who happens to use a generator at off road races and has to repair them.
