My champ runs 3 days no problem on one tank of regular unleaded. More than adequate for my use. It's dimunitive size makes it ideal for my use (recreational) but it's also very limited in output. I have a 27KW diesel powered stationary unit that backs up the farm during power outages. The tiny Champ stays in the RV, where it is right now actually, sleeping with everything else.
Was "runs 3 days" (72 continuous hours) a misprint? If it's not a misprint, then Good Grief ... what wattage is your Champ and what size is the built-in gas tank feeding it?
Your use of the Champ is very similar to our use of my little 25-30 year old Honda EX650 suitcase generator. It stays stored away in an RV compartment with other stuff packed all around it - for use as a battery charging backup to our built-in Onan. Our little Honda is way too heavy for it's wattage, at 51 lbs.. However, what I get for all that weight is a metal intensive (including the case) generator that still starts right up after 25-30 years and a generator that is one of the quietest in the world - a low humming sound of 54 dB regardless of the load on it.
But your Champ may have me beat on run-time ... our little EX650 will only go 5-6 hours off it's 0.5 gal built-in fuel tank.
