hornet screens

Any opinions on the screens made for dometic refrigerators to keep insects out? I've heard a few folks say they had issues with their frig overheating with the screen in place. Comments?
  • Refrigerator, water heater and furnace vent screens are a good investment. You can find screen vents to fit your rv on line. They are cheap. Took me 10 minutes to install all of em.

I wouldn't be without them. We experienced a moth invasion one year in Nebraska and they plugged up everything you can imagine on the RV, truck and boat. I had to clean out all the appliances on the RV by taking them apart. It took days! I have screens on all of them now and have not experienced any problems.
  • We use fiberglass window screens on our fridge vents to keep the bugs out. No issues with overheating that I can tell. When the fridge vent fan started making noise I did replace it with 2 fans of the same size, so that may help.
  • I've not had an overheating problem. I use them to keep mice out since they are our biggest nuisance.
