House sanitary line to trailer

Hello,

Is there a way to convert a 2" ABS house DWV line so the trailer can have a connection for dumping?

My 2" clean out line goes through the house footing and in the crawl space it's a 3" line. I would like to sanitize the trailer FW lines and to do this I would need to drain the grey tank. Do they sell an adapter that connects to the dump hose? I could make the DWV line a 3" if need be.

Thanks
  • Buy the pump. I like the way the camper travels with extra weight so I bring my waste home. I put a 12 volt outlet right by the dump valves, plug in the pump, hook up the hose and in a couple minutes all gone. If you go into the 2" line you may plug it. I would not want to clean it up.

Why don't you just say black water too ?
You cannot dump a BW tank thru a 2 inch line, w/o a chopper pump, period !

I have to agree with this. Going from a larger to a smaller line with sewer flow violates every rule and code - for a good reason.
Use a macerator and do it right. You won't be sorry and it may even cost less.

  • Should be pretty simple to dig down a foot or so and saw off the 2" abs/pvc cleanout pipe, then glue a 2"x 4" abs/pvc reducer onto the 2" pipe and then glue on a short piece of 4" pipe, then a 4" abs/pvc threaded female cleanout fitting so it ends up flush with the ground......then you can screw your threaded RV sewer hose hookup elbow into the 4" abs/pvc cleanout fitting just like you do in an rv park.....put a 4" abs/pvc plug in it when you are not using it....thats the way I would do it anyway....abs/pvc is really easy to work with and fittings are cheap & easy to find at any hardware store.....

I wonder if it might be an alternative for you to get a macerator pump that can pump the tank stuff uphill into the cleanout, as opposed to replumbing. A Flojet costs $300, and I have no clue how much it would cost to trench in a line just for a "sewer clean-out" near the RV.

or a sewer solution costs about $130?

  • If I can make this work, it would be a full hookup in my driveway where I store the trailer. Cable, phone, internet, 30amp, water.
  • Ok, The cap for the trailer will work for attaching a small hose.

I would rather have the trailer sanitary flexible hose connect to the DWV line though. This would all be gravity fed as the cleanout is +- 12" lower than the trailer pull valves.

does an adapter for the trailer hose to 2" or 3" abs exist?

    Thank you for the suggestions.
  • You should be able to find an adaptor for just about any application at a plumbing supply store or in the local plumbing section of a home center.

At an RV supply you can get a sewer cap with a garden hose connector on it to fit your grey tank sewer connection, then run a garden hose from the RV to the clean out to dump your grey tank.
