How to Remove Burner Cover on Dometic 2652
I would like to examine and clean the burner on my refrigerator, but have run into a road block. The instructions, and the You-Tube video I watched, simply said to remove the cover, but did not describe how to do this. This fridge had a larger wind shield, simply removed with three screws, and then a small sheet metal box surrounding the burner, which is the burner cover. I cannot figure out how to remove this box to expose the burner, ignitor, etc.
There is a single screw on top of the box, which I removed, but the cover still seems to be wedged or held in place by something else. It wiggles a little bit, but the right side seems firmly held in place. I pulled and twisted as much as I dared, but thought I should ask for help before strong arming it further. There must be a trick or something I am missing.
I recall that the Dometic fridges on other units I have owned had a somewhat similar cover, and their removal required careful manipulation, twisting, shoving, and an advanced understanding of three-dimensional geometry. But this one is beyond me.
Is there a second screw, or some other fitting I need to remove? Has this been a problem for others?
Thanks.
