do wrap any Christmas tree light cable connections with electrical tape when I put the lights up in late fall
regardless that the total draw is only a very tiny fraction of what a set 30 amp main service cables could carry. Fact is, water is a conductor so keeping any electrical connection points dry
is IMO worth the effort.
