Hughes Auto former 50-30 amp adapter.

I have a 50 amp 5th wheel with a 50 amp hughes auto former unit. The campground we’re going to be staying at only has 30 amp service. If I use a 50-30 amp adapter on the Hughes will it work ok ? Thanks in advance.
  • If the voltage drops to 100 you are in another park that doesn’t provide safe electricity. Don’t advertise your autoformer IMO. Park probably has rules against them.

Yes it will work just Fine.. I did that many times no problems

Well one possile issue.. due to the nature of electricity you use Volt-Amps. so if your rig needs say 3500 volt amps and the voltage is 120 volts. NO problem (30 amps at 120 volts is 3600 volt-amps) But if the voltage drops to say 100 volts park side. now it needs 35 amps to get that same 3500 volt-amps and click goes the park breaker.

NOTE it's not watts (Watts are generally less than volt-amps) it's volt-amps.

But we normally speak of them the same.
