Hydraulic Jack Help

2012 DRV 5th Wheel
Leveling jacks are lowering while driving.
No apparent leaks.
Jacks remain extended when lowered, but slowly lower when retracted.
Trying to identify components and find a solution.

Thank you,

  • Thank you 12th Man,

I had read that post also and tried it, but didn't work for me.
  • I read in an earlier tread on the same issue if you would use the auto retract mode when you store all of your jacks it might cure you problem. The auto retract hold pressure on the jacks for several seconds before it shuts off thus equalizing the system.

Won't cost anything to give it a try.

    Good luck
  • Do your self a favor and join the THOR Forum and use the DRV section. You WILL get proper answers for your issues.

    See you over there!
  • The knob appears to be on the main line into the system from the pump. It adjusts the amount of flow to the jacks. It is basically a pressure regulator.
  • Thank you for all the input already. Your help is greatly appreciated.
The rear 4 stabilizing jacks are not leaking down. FYI, two of the slides use hydraulics to operate.

Does the knob on the solenoid do anything? I just noticed the solenoid itself was only hand tight.

    Here are some more pics.

    Thank you,

    Trent
  • The leveling system. If it’s a six point has 3 separate solenoid valves. One for two front LG and 1 for left side and 1 for right side mid and rear jacks. The legs are lead
And follower for each pair. Front...mid...rear. For all levelers to creep down has to be something before these solenoid valves to allow hydraulic holding pressure to bleed

  • I suspect the jacks are coming down because of a leaking solenoid valve. I would contact the Jack manufacturer and get his take on it. They should be able to direct you in the right direction .

  • If these operate hydraulic each way, down and up,
Could be either a bad control valve not holding the pressure or
a bad seal inside the hydraulic ram
  • That is the electric solenoid valve that opens to allow hyd fluid to either extend or retract the hydraulic slideouts. Your leveling gear will have one on the passenger front gear and two additional for mid and rear leveler legs

But I’d need to see pic of rest of hyd system. This could also be the pressure switch that turns off hyd pump when set pressure is reached during retraction or extension of slides and LG
